In addition, you may view and print instant CARFAX Vehicle History Reports right from the vehicle edit screen in DeskLot.

You can set DeskLot to interact with CARFAX in a number of ways:

• You can use the Autopurchase option (see the "Settings" screen) to automatically purchase a CARFAX report and download sticker data if a report has not yet been purchased for the vehicle. If a report has already been purchased, DeskLot will automatically download the sticker data.
• With Autopurchase disabled, DeskLot will download the data if a report has been purchased, otherwise, the alternate image that you configure in the settings screen will be displayed on stickers.

The latter is great for window sticker printing companies as they can have DeskLot check the dealers CARFAX account and use what the dealer has purchased and display an alternate image for vehicles that the dealer has not purchased a CARFAX report for.

Another particularly handy function, especially for window sticker companies, is located within the "Vehicles" main menu option. It allows you to "Batch Download CARFAX Data". Once again, if Autopurchase is enabled, reports will be purchased for any non-existent CARFAX reports and DeskLot will download the CARFAX data, or just download the data for vehicles where a CARFAX report has already been purchased. If Autopurchase is disabled, DeskLot will download data for any vehicles where a CARFAX report has already been purchased.

Configure your settings:

• Click "File" and then "Settings" and click the "CARFAX" tab.
• Enter the Dealers CARFAX User ID.
• Review the other CARFAX settings.
• Be sure to select an alternate image to be displayed when no CARFAX Window Sticker Data is available for a vehicle with the "When no CARFAX window sticker data has been downloaded, display this image on window stickers" section.

To display CARFAX Window Sticker Data on your stickers:

• Click "Window Stickers" and then "Configure Window Stickers" within DeskLot.
• Choose the sticker you want to edit and click "Edit"
• From the "Sticker Configuration" screen, click on the "Preview Stage" where you want the upper-left hand portion of the CARFAX Window Sticker Data to go.
• From the "Add a Sticker Item" dialog box, select "CARFAX Window Sticker Data" and click "OK".
• Make your fine tuning adjustments in the "Position" tab within the "Item Properties" section.
• If you'd like a larger width use the "Dimensions" tab within the "Item Properties" section.
• You may also choose a different font, font size and/or color with the "Font" and "Color" tabs.

To download CARFAX data for vehicles:

• From the "Vehicle Edit" screen, click the "CARFAX" tab and then "Download CARFAX Data".
• From the "Vehicle List" screen, place a checkmark next to each vehicle you would like to process with CARFAX. Then click "Vehicles" from the main menu and then "Batch Download CARFAX Data".

Getting DeskLot version 4.5:

• If you already have DeskLot installed, simply use the "Check for Updates" main menu option to get upgraded to version 4.5.
• If you no longer have DeskLot installed, click here to download and install it.
